Why Has B’nai B’rith Requested that CD4HR Be Dissolved? Firas al-Najim: “They Can’t Subdue Us”

Toronto – Pro-Israel B’nai B’rith Canada has requested that a registered organisation be dissolved following an evening ceremony, which was held outside Toronto’s US Consulate to honour the second martyrdom anniversary of the Quds Force commander, Major General Haj Qassem Soleimani. The attendance chanted anti-US slogans, condemning the US for assassinating Soleimani and Haj Abu Mehdi al-Mohandis alongside other martyrs two years ago, on January 3rd, 2020.
Citing al-Najim’s and the attendance’s chant of “death to America” and al-Najim’s declared support for Hezbollah and Hamas, B’nai B’rith has written to Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne, demanding that Canadian Defenders for Human Rights – the organisation that held the ceremony and is headed by al-Najim – be dissolved.

B’nai B’rith Canada’s CEO Michael Mostyn has tried to label the ceremony as ‘anti-Semitic’, saying in a B’nai B’rith statement, “The Government of Canada must act against anti-Semitism and the promotion of terrorist groups. Corporate status bestowed by the government cannot be allowed to serve as a vehicle for such nefarious ends.”

Al-Najim: “They can’t subdue us”
Asked by Sada al-Mashrek to comment on B’nai B’rith’s statement, Firas al-Najim says, “We held a peaceful rally to remind people of Haj Qassem Soleimani’s and Haj Abu Mehdi al-Mohandis’ martyrdom, and to remind people of the hegemonic US administration’s criminality, especially during former President Donald Trump’s time in office. Those crimes targeted the lords of victory, who were in Iraq defending Muslims, Christians and followers of all faiths and doctrines.”
Al-Najim added that “those leaders demolished a malicious plot embodied by the so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’, in devising which many states had taken part. The martyred leaders protected Iraq from the crimes and terror of ISIL and reclaimed stolen homes for people.”
Besides, al-Najim pointed out that “reacting to those leaders’ victory, the US killed them near the airport in a critical moment, ahead of their official meeting with the Iraqi Prime minister. The assassination violated Iraqi laws, especially when it was perpetrated without the Iraqi government’s consent.”
Addressing why the rally was held, al-Najim said, “We held one outside the US Consulate last year. This year we chose the same place to demand justice and the arrest and fair trial of all the criminals, including the former President Trump , Pompeo and all the officers involved.”
As for the “death to America” slogan, which has angered B’nai B’rith, al-Najim pointed out that “all resistance camps use this slogan, which targets the US administration, not the American people who are unable to end their administration’s policies. We wish those despots death and loss of power, for they have caused the death of so many people and continue to commit atrocities in the whole world.” Al-Najim cited Iran’s Supreme Leader Sayid Khamenei’s statement regarding the slogan meaning, which has been reported by global and Canadian media, and which isn’t addressed to the American people & he clearly confirmed that the slogan is aimed towards the war criminal US administration and their culprits.
The interviewee confirmed B’nai B’rith “works on behalf of the Zionist lobby, which lies, bluffs, distorts facts and scares society. They have been using the ‘terror’ term just to brainwash and scare people.”
Al-Najim as well pointed out, “I am Iraqi. Those leaders were killed in Iraq. The tragedy happened in Iraq. I spoke about the Iraqis hitting the streets in thousands to reiterate that they stand by the resistance camps and by justice for Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mehdi. I confirmed afterwards that Iraq would continue to stand by the Islamic Republic of Iran and by the resistance camps. We won’t allow anyone to separate the Islamic Republic from Iraq, especially that Iran is the only state that has supported Iraq. Other states, contrastingly, were backing terror up or just sitting and watching.”
Regarding his speech, al-Najim said, “My speech confirmed support for Iran and the resistance camps versus the evil camps, which include the US and collaborators and criminal pro-Israel normalisers. I named the resistance camps: Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Palestine’s Hamas and Yemen’s Ansarullah. I said that they are on the way to free Palestine and that this is a focal purpose, and I won’t back off. Our organisation, Canadian Defenders for Human Rights, has gathered protestors and organised the rally, but as head of the organisation, I, Firas al-Najim, spoke my mind and, as an Iraqi, addressed a political crime committed at my homeland.”
As for his message to B’nai B’rith, the interviewee said, “Here it is: You want to own and control the government and to assign position to whomever you want and scare whomever you want. But you should know well that the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms maintains people’s rights to free expression. You should know, too, that the policies by which certain organisations are blacklisted are unstable; they’re liable to change from time to another.”
Al-Najim added that “B’nai B’rith is using politicians with strong ties to Zionists to push their plots forward, which means getting certain organisations blacklisted. Then they try to weaken the people thought to be related to the targeted organisations. For example, when those plotters want to weaken Hezbollah, they try to scare Lebanese Canadians and restrict them to weaken their voices and vilify them.”
Al-Najim added that “it was Hezbollah that freed Lebanon, in collaboration with Lebanese Muslims and Christians, from the Zionist military occupation. This Lebanese party, Hezbollah, is represented by parliamentarians and government ministers. In contrast, the Zionist lobby and partnering organisations claim to defend human rights, but they are way too far from that. They are even enemies of human rights, and they will never be able to subdue us.”
Al-Najim’s final say was, “In Canada there’s law that necessitates re-examining blacklists and changing them. Therefore, change can occur to these blacklists depending on governmental policies and the nature of changing or developing relations among states and global organisations. There’s always room for amendment.”
Al-Najim recalled that “previously, we petitioned the government to reconsider removing Hezbollah and the (IRGC) Quds Force from the blacklist, especially when they’ve been the defenders of the Middle East and have been fighting against terror.” Al-Najim hopes “a positive change gets reached soon.”
