Observant sources from within the Arab/Muslim community have told Sada al-Mashrek that prominent activists and financial contributors have withdrawn from the federal Liberal Party. The withdrawers, including members of the Laurier Club – a major contributor to the Liberals, have ceased their financial contributions, the sources confirm.
The withdrawals have been made to protest the party’s stances concerning Israel’s continuous war on Gaza, which back up Israel as it massacres Palestinians, especially children, every day, the withdrawing members say. If the Liberals keep their stances unchanged, more withdrawals will be made, and the Liberals will have lost our community’s votes, unlike earlier times, the sources say.
